Small Part Ultrasound (Thyroid, Scrotum, Breast, etc.)

See Your Blood Flow in Real-Time. Stay Ahead of Health Issues.

Colour Doppler Ultrasound is a special type of ultrasound that shows blood flow through your blood vessels. Unlike routine ultrasound, which only shows images of organs and tissues, Doppler adds color to visualize the speed and direction of blood flow—helping detect blockages, narrowing of vessels, or abnormal circulation.

At Atharv Diagnostic Center, our expert radiologists use advanced Doppler technology to give you a detailed and accurate view of your vascular health.

When is Colour Doppler Recommended?

Your doctor may recommend a Colour Doppler test if you have:

  • Pain or swelling in legs or arms

  • Varicose veins

  • Suspected blood clots (DVT)

  • Reduced blood flow to limbs or organs

  • High blood pressure during pregnancy

  • Abnormal fetal growth or placental issues

Doppler studies are also vital in monitoring pregnancies, especially in high-risk cases, to ensure healthy blood flow to the baby and placenta.

What Areas Can Be Scanned?

  • Carotid Doppler – neck vessels to check stroke risk

  • Lower and Upper Limb Doppler – for clots or poor circulation

  • Renal Doppler – kidney blood flow

  • Abdominal Doppler – liver, aorta, spleen

  • Obstetric Doppler – umbilical artery, uterine artery flow for baby’s health

What to Expect?

  • It’s a non-invasive and painless test

  • Gel is applied to the skin and a probe is moved gently over the area

  • Colour images appear on screen showing blood flow

  • The scan usually takes 20–30 minutes, depending on the area examined
