Quick and Accurate Diagnosis When Every Second Counts
A stroke is a medical emergency that requires immediate and precise diagnosis. At Atharv Diagnostic Center, our MRI Stroke Study helps doctors detect and evaluate strokes quickly and accurately, so that treatment can begin without delay. With advanced imaging technology and experienced radiologists, we ensure timely support when it matters the most.
What is an MRI Stroke Study?
An MRI Stroke Study is a special brain scan designed to detect signs of stroke, even in its earliest stages. MRI uses powerful magnets and radio waves (not radiation) to create detailed images of the brain’s structure and blood flow. It can clearly show:
Areas of the brain affected by ischemic stroke (blockage of blood flow)
Hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in the brain)
Mini-strokes (TIAs) that may not appear on other scans
Early brain tissue damage caused by poor oxygen supply
Blood vessel abnormalities or narrowing (when combined with MR Angiography)
Why is it Important?
Faster diagnosis, faster treatment – Early detection leads to better outcomes and less brain damage.
More sensitive than a CT scan – MRI detects even small or subtle strokes that may be missed otherwise.
Guides treatment decisions – Helps doctors decide whether clot-busting drugs or other treatments are appropriate.
Monitors recovery – Follow-up scans show how the brain is healing and responding to treatment.
What to Expect During the MRI Stroke Study
The scan typically takes about 30–45 minutes.
You will lie on a cushioned table that slides into the MRI machine.
The scan is non-invasive and painless.
In some cases, a contrast dye may be used to improve image clarity, especially when checking blood vessels.
Our staff will be in constant contact with you throughout the scan to ensure your comfort.
