Non-Invasive Imaging of Arteries and Veins – Safe, Detailed & Radiation-Free
Your blood vessels carry life through your body—and seeing them clearly can help doctors detect and treat a variety of health conditions. At Atharv Diagnostic Center, we offer MR Angiography (MRA) and MR Venogram (MRV)—advanced MRI-based tests that create detailed images of arteries and veins without using harmful radiation.
What is MR Angiography (MRA)?
MR Angiography is a specialized MRI technique that captures clear images of the arteries. It is commonly used to check for:
Narrowing or blockages in arteries (like in the brain, neck, kidneys, or legs)
Aneurysms (weakened or bulging arteries)
Arterial malformations or abnormalities
Stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) evaluation
Carotid artery disease
What is MR Venogram (MRV)?
MR Venogram is designed to visualize veins, especially in the brain or legs. It helps in diagnosing:
Cerebral venous thrombosis (blood clots in brain veins)
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
Varicose veins or venous insufficiency
Congenital venous abnormalities
Blocked or compressed veins
Why Choose MRA and MRV?
Non-invasive & painless
No radiation exposure – unlike CT angiography
May not require contrast dye (when used, it is a safer type called gadolinium)
Highly detailed 3D images of blood vessels
Helps in early detection and planning of treatments like stenting or surgery
What to Expect During the Scan
The scan usually takes 30–60 minutes, depending on the area being examined.
You will lie still in the MRI machine while images are captured.
If contrast is needed, it will be injected through a small IV.
The procedure is safe, comfortable, and no recovery time is needed.
Results are reviewed by our experienced radiologists and shared with your doctor promptly.
